Community engagement

Working with key partner organisations, ‘Performing the Jewish Archive’, will co-produce and deliver community and educational workshops encouraging young people and adults to think more deeply about the relationships between the past, present and future.

We aim to engage them with archives related to Jewish creative life and displacement, to inspire the archival researchers of the future, and to co-create short performances that reflect the objectives at the heart of our project.

Many of our partners train the educators and policy-makers of the future, for example, the South African Holocaust and Genocide Foundation works in partnership with South Africa’s provincial departments of education. They conduct workshops with educators and senior personnel from education departments across the country, thus helping to develop knowledge and capacity in the curriculum and among subject advisors. In this way, the future impact of our activities could become deeply embedded in educational policy on an international basis.
