'Out of the Shadows' is both a memorial to, and a celebration of the artistry of Jewish musical/theatrical artists under conditions of repression, exile, or internment. We invite you to an opening reception featuring many of the illustrious performers who will appear in the festival.
 
Contributions from distinguished members of the Cape Town and Stellenbosch communities will alternate with "taster" extracts from the festival, and a survivor of the Warsaw Ghetto will recall the musical and other cultural activities that continued despite the harsh conditions.
